Outdoor Excursions at WonderLab
Excursions & Outdoor Adventures
At WonderLab, learning extends beyond the school setting. Our excursions are thoughtfully designed to enrich the children’s experience, connect them with their environment and their city, and inspire creativity, play, and collaboration.
For Younger Children – Little Explorers (ages 3– 6 )
At Little Explorers, each week includes one special excursion, either inspired by the theme of the week or to the beach.
Our outings are designed to offer young children joyful summer experiences through play, movement, exploration, and meaningful contact with the world around them.
During our beach outings, children play in the sand, enjoy the shoreline, and take part in age-appropriate activities, always under the steady and careful supervision of our educators. For safety reasons, swimming is not permitted.
At the same time, our themed excursions enrich learning in a hands-on way, connecting each week with new images, materials, experiences, and discoveries.
For Older Children (ages 6–12) – WonderLab | Compass Kids: The 360° Expedition
Each week includes 2 excursions as part of The 360° Expedition:
1. City Expedition in Thessaloniki
A themed city excursion
One excursion each week takes place within the city and is directly connected to our theme. Children do not simply go on a guided visit — they take on missions, observe, record, and return to school to transform their experience into projects such as maps, constructions, models, stories, and presentations.
Examples include:
-
Kapani & Modiano + Bezesteni
(spice and trade hunts, inspired by stories of commerce) -
Port of Thessaloniki – Pier A + Old Customs House
(navigation, sea maps, and trade routes) -
Upper City – Byzantine Walls – Heptapyrgion – Trigoniou Tower
(city layers, materials, and “reading the city” from above)
2. Beach Day
Swimming & play
The second weekly excursion is a day at the beach for play, movement, and swimming, always with our own lifeguard present on site.
It includes organised group games on the sand, fun challenges with an expedition feel, and time to relax — the most summery recharge of the week.
Parent Information
The exact excursion schedule, including days and locations, will be shared with parents one week before the beginning of WonderLab.
We discover, play, and learn… wherever the compass of imagination leads us.w
